Despite the title, this isn't a rant so much as an observation.
Our guild downed Curator last night for the nth time, and for the first time, he dropped the T4 glove token. There were 3 of us in line to roll on it (2 Hunters and a Warlock). First Hunter rolled...low roll. Warlock rolled...mid 40s. I rolled...52. I sent the raid leader
a /w before I rolled asking them to not distribute the token to me just yet if I were to get the high roll. After I got the high roll, I sent the raid leader a /w again asking them to give them to the other Hunter. That's what they did, and I was satisfied with the outcome. (The Warlock regularly tops the damage meters, and the
other Hunter does a good job skill-wise but could really use some gear upgrades). Huzzah! Our second group 1 Hunter got rid of their last green, my epic gloves from Heroic Mechanar still serve me well, and everyone is happy.
Or are they?
I ran Heroics almost nightly for a period of time to save the badges for my Shifting Camouflage Pants. In the process of running Kara and the occasional Heroic, it was nothing to save the badges for my bracers. Even the heroic badge gloves aren't that much of an upgrade over what I have. What I'm finding is that short of T5/6 gear, nothing really seems to offer much by way of upgrades that make me say,
If anything, most of the upgrades I see as being possible (with one or two exceptions) represent a reduction in my Agility which, considering my gear, is not all that great (666 Agility unbuffed). I've got my eye on a Skyfire Hawk Bow from Prince, but the way our guild is progressing, just downing Prince looks to be at best a couple of weeks off. Then I have to hope it drops. Then I have to hope to
win the roll against 1 or 2 other Hunters. Legacy would be a bit of a boost, and there are a couple of other pieces that would be a benefit but they're few and far between and always seem to come with a tradeoff.
Is this common for raiding? Do other Hunters (not limited to SV necessarily) find this to be the case? Our guild is casual, which suits me just fine. We bring along a lot of people that are nowhere near what a lot of you might consider "Kara ready" in terms of essential stats. It's going to be some time before we're farming Kara start to finish, much less progressing to 25 mans. If the slow road saves me from the headaches of hard-core raiding guilds, so be it. I'll take the slow road. I just wish the slow road had a few more perks :P-I tink I made an angry poo-poo!
