In a group I would never melee except to escape or get a killing blow on a passing mob. In the group should be a warrior/rogue for that job.
When soloing (unless I need to lvl up a weapon skill) I only melee
if by chance my pet looses aggro and the mob comes to me with low health (too lazy to feign and run away).
For PVP you will need to melee to escape all the time... or die. So for PVP should be
two hand slow weapon spamming wing clip to escape (this is where your weapon skill comes into play). You will want to get the biggest one hit you can when you are escaping.
Now it seems like a lot of players have anti trap trinkets since we don't have to feign to trap anymore. Kiting is your friend.-70 Hunter

"All warfare is based on deception. Hence, when able to attack, we must seem unable; when using our forces, we must seem inactive; when we are near, we must make the enemy believe we are far away; when far away, we must make him believe we are near." -SuntzuYou should avoid melee as much as you can. melee for hunters is like fireball
for a frost mage. They can do it but that doesn`t meen they will.
However yesterday I was in AB and noticed my bullets had run almos out (about 60 or so). So for that BG I was a meleeing hunter (which is actually pretty fun every ones in a while)
Other than that, just try not to do it.

Belf Paladin (lev 14)Ok, one of the only viable explanations for hunters meleeing in a group is "so I can build up my skill." But what purpose does it serve to have a high melee skill on your hunter? At least at higher levels...
I
know when I'm soloing in areas with either a close consentration of enemies (i.e. a boat) or an area with a high respawn, I'll melee so there's less overall aggro radius away from the target monster (instead of my pets radius
on the monster and my radius 30 yards away, it'll just be my radius on the monster).
Is there anywhere else though, for hunters who dont solo much, where melee is used?-comma long-slash comma comma asterick underscore asterick comma comma long-slash comma
